About me

About me

Firstly - a warm welcome - thank you for taking the time to come and visit me on my website!

I am a retired Physiotherapist and a Blogger.

I worked as a Physiotherapist for nearly 30 years, mainly in the NHS across England, Scotland, and Wales. In 2024 I took the opportunity to take early retirement.

I have been blogging since 2022. I blog on things that I feel passionate about and that may inspire or help others.

I believe in putting out quality rather than quantity of blog articles. For this reason, I do not commit to putting out articles every week.

If you would like to know when my blog posts are out you can subscribe to the mailing list. My blog posts will then be automatically delivered to your email inbox to read when you have time. Subscription is free and you can unsubscribe at any time. Alternatively, you can read them for free on this website. Click on the link at the bottom of this page.

The things I love in life and make time for:

  • My violin - playing fiddle music (I'm still not great at playing the faster tunes!!)
  • Walking national trails - both home and abroad
  • Travel at home and abroad (on my own or organized tours)
  • Reading - fiction and nonfiction. I highlight and mark my books / Kindle and put new learnings into my zettelkasten
  • I enjoy daily walking (about 30 minutes)
  • Yoga (about 5 minutes each morning)
  • Meditation (Transcendental and Mindfulness - about 20 minutes each morning)
  • Journalling (1 A5 page each morning using the Artists Way method)
  • Upper Limb training using body weight and resistance bands x 2 per week at home
  • Photography - mainly on my longer walks and when traveling
  • Learning: either from books; webinars; online courses; Podcasts; YouTube Videos
  • My blog posts - this helps me to pass on my learnings to others.

I want to get back to running - at least twice per week for 30 minutes. Once I have done this I will join Park Run for moral support.

I enjoy moving gently out of my comfort zone and trying new things.

My Retirement

I want this to be a time for adventure, developing current interests, doing more travel but more 'slowly', and personal development. I feel energized by having the time, freedom, and health to do all the things I want to do for as long as I can.
